Employee Motivation Games

Every year at the major company event there are employee motivation games to play. Most of us dislike these games because the majority of them seem silly and pointless. Why waste our time with this is what employees usually complain about.

However, help is on the way. Out of all the employee motivation games played this one seems the favorite. Try a company scavenger hunt. The nice thing about this game is it does not have to be done during a major company event, although right before yearly inventory for smaller companies seems to be a good time. This will work for all companies. Large and small alike. You just need to have a set of company information for the employees to find out.

The reason the scavenger hunt is my favorite of all employee motivation games is that it is easy to set up and easy to play. It is also relatively fun. First, get a list of company information that you want the employees to find out. It can be date of incorporation, date the first product was sold/manufactured, who was the founder, what is the best selling product, and the list goes on. Once you have a set of information you divide the employees into teams. You can set departments against each other or you can have other ways of making teams. Set a time frame, especially if some of the items are hard to find or locate. Have everyone meet back at the designated time and declare the winner or winners. Be sure to have a prize for the winning team or teams.

This is a great game because it is different from the usual employee motivation games. The game is actually educational in nature. Instead of wasting time with seemingly pointless tasks, it actually teaches the employees about the company they work for. The more knowledge employees have about the company they work for, the better they are able to understand and relate to its mission statement and vision. By empowering employees with knowledge, you are inviting them to stay. Isn’t this a fun and interesting way to help improve employee retention rates

Improve Your Life’s Quality by Losing Weight

Obesity and fat accumulation at specific body parts like the tummy have the potential to destroy your life’s quality by making you physically and mentally lethargic.  A fat person is seldom self-confident and active.  Obesity is  becoming a pandemic which can shake the very roots of human civilization.  Fortunately, many effective means for fat-control have been devised and tested and some of these have been proved to be very effective in the battle against the bulge.

However, the term ‘weight loss’ is a most abused one with hundreds of spurious drugs, pills and tactics entering the market to bamboozle unwary users.  Rapid weight loss through dieting, medications and surgery may be effective in the short term, but they have the potential to harm you in the long term.  The focus has shifted from rapid shedding of weight to permanent but slow and harmless weight loss tactics.

I would aver that each and every person should be aware of how much his or her body weight should be.  This awareness would help you maintain your body weight at the most suitable levels.  But once you feel that things are going out of shape literally, never waste time and plan out a strategy to fight this menace.

Your desire to keep fit and your willingness to go any lengths to achieve this goal is of paramount importance here.  Once you decide your line of action, make sure that you keep it a secret.  Otherwise, the so called free advisers would confuse you with their precious ideas.  Draw up a plan on your daily intake of calories, physical exercise regime and related matters.  Always tell yourself that you are doing this to regenerate your life, and you would never feel fatigued.

You should look for means to improve self control so that you can defeat cravings which may attack you any time.  Most people fail in the fight against obesity just due to lack of  will power.  Compulsive eating is the biggest enemy of our body.  Try to drink a glass of pure water whenever you feel the urge to eat.  Fat free diets are available these days, but many of us make the cardinal mistake of binging on such foods also.  This practice beats the very purpose of dieting.  Some people suffer from anorexia due to excessive dieting.  You have to strike a fine balance here.  Eat only what you require and kick the habit of compulsive eating.

The efficacy of the so called magic weight loss pills and potions is also doubtful.  Some weight loss pills causes dysentery and thereby drains the body of vital nutrients along with fat.  Some pills destroy appetite, while some others bring forth giddiness, joint pains, stomach ache etc in the long run.  So your focus should always be on healthy weight loss.  It is a long term strategy which combines your attitude, eating habits, willingness to exert your physically and hope for a better future.  Leave one of these aside, and your entire weight loss program would come crashing down.

Improve Your Life With Outdoor Dining Furniture

Patios and decks have long provided enjoyment for people. The popularity of outdoor dining furniture is stronger now than it’s ever been. Owning a deck or patio where you can enjoy a meal improves your life in a few key ways.

Being outdoors is good for you. Science and medicine have proved this but all you really need to do is step outside and test this theory for yourself. The natural surroundings and fresh air will make you feel better. This is the reason why restaurant patios are always packed during the summer months. People feel good when they’re outside. With outdoor dining sets we have the ability to recreate this restaurant patio atmosphere in our own backyards. Having your own outdoor dining area will encourage you and your loved ones to spend more time outside. You’ll be happier and healthier.

Quality time with family and friends is another reason to consider an outdoor dining set. Having a patio with quality furniture will provide numerous opportunities for you and your loved ones to spend time together. In the morning, a patio is the perfect spot for a cup of coffee with your husband or wife. There are numerous ways to use patios in the evenings as well. The most popular use of an outdoor dining area is probably the barbecue. There are not too many things better in life than spending time with your loved ones around a barbecue on a late summer evening.

If interior design interests you, this type of furniture can be a whole lot of fun. Choosing your pieces and then placing them accordingly is extremely enjoyable. Although technically an outdoor dining area isn’t inside, the same design principles apply. Selecting the furniture is quite a task by itself. You have to decide on materials, colors, and what pieces you actually want to see on your deck. Because this process can be quite overwhelming, I suggest designing your setup first. Sit down with a pen and a piece of graph paper. Mark off the necessary measurements of the area you have to work with. Now start drawing in the basic elements such as tables, chairs, and benches. When you’re happy with your setup, you can start thinking about materials and colors.

Improving Your Life in Three Easy Steps

When you stop and analyze your life, are you happy with where you are now? Are you doing what you want to do and living the life that you want to live? The chances are that the answer here is no.

Most of us tend to just float through life. We have dreams and goals but all too often we put them to one side and we let other things get in our way of achieving what we want. However, it really doesn’t have to be that way and there are three simple steps that you can take today if you want to improve your life.

Step One – Knowing What You Want

The first step to changing your life is to know what it is that you want. This may sound like a simple step, but it can actually be a lot more difficult than you would first imagine.

Many people think that they know what they want, when in fact once they come to think about it, they actually have no idea. So to determine what you want out of life you should think about the following:

• What makes you happy?

• What are your talents?

• Is there anything you have always wanted to do?

Don’t think about the reasons why you haven’t achieved what you want as that will only give you a negative mindset. Simply list all of the things that make you happy and which you would like to achieve. Knowing what you want out of life is the first step to achieving it.

Step Two – Creating Realistic Goals

The second step to changing your life is to analyze what you want and then set simple goals to achieve them. No matter what it is that you want out of life, it can be achieved if you break it down into small steps.

If you would like a new job and you hate what you currently do then the steps you can take to change that can easily be broken down. First you need to decide what it is you want (see step one). Then you need to see what skills you need for that job. If you do not have the necessary skills then set goals to achieve them. Perhaps you could take a part time night course at college to attain the skills that you need? These days it is easy to get back into education and get the skills needed for any job no matter what your age. Then once you have the skills you can start applying for jobs that appeal to you.

If your goal on the other hand is to travel more then figure out where you want to go first and start a savings account. If you have trouble saving money then be stricter on your budget. Cut back on entertainment each month and added food that you do not need. It is surprising how much money you can save once you put your mind to it.

Step Three – Keeping Motivated

The last stage to achieving your life goals is to keep yourself motivated. This is the main step which people have a problem with. It is all well and good knowing what you want to do and setting goals to achieve it, but sticking to those goals can be hard work. However, like the saying goes “nothing that is worth it is easy to achieve.” If you want something you have to work hard to get it. So do things that keep your motivation up.

If you are trying to save for a holiday then keep brochures of where you are going so that you can keep looking at it. Make an itinerary showing where you will be going and what you will be doing. This should help you to stay focused on what you want and you will then be likely to save more for the holiday.

Overall no matter what your goals, if you follow the above three steps then you can change your life for the better. It is all about keeping a positive state of mind and doing things that keep you motivated to follow through with your goals.

Improve Your Posture – Improve Your Life

If you are looking to improve yourself mentally or physically, proper posture will help aid in both areas. There is a mental conception that a fully confident person has the perfect posture and this lends to be very true. Whether you’re walking, running, or sitting, a proper posture will stand out more positively than a sunken chest and stomach sticking out.

I encourage you to concentrate on this and make sure that you are always ensuring your spine is erect. Keeping your chin up and your shoulders back, hold your abdomen in without straining. Practice breathing deeply and naturally while walking. Remember not to slouch as this will work against you. Also practice sitting with your body erect and proper. Don’t get lazy and slouch in to a semi laying position. It’s important to look confident as if the whole world was watching. If you are able to do all of this without thinking about it, you will definitely be more successful and feel better.

During the day it is a great idea to do some quick stretching. While sitting, reach for the ceiling a few times. Each time you raise your arms up try to get higher than you did previously without compromising your form. This should help loosen the bones in your back and prevent your organs from hanging like a sloth in a tree. You must continue a daily routine of stretching and posture practice for it to become habit. Not only will you gain a better posture but your confidence in your self-image will improve as well.

Not only will a proper posture help the previously mentioned, it will also help with constipation and improve oxygen intake and circulation though out the body. Just remember, by being conscious of your posture you will automatically correct it, and be on the road to success.
