If you are looking to improve yourself mentally or physically, proper posture will help aid in both areas. There is a mental conception that a fully confident person has the perfect posture and this lends to be very true. Whether you’re walking, running, or sitting, a proper posture will stand out more positively than a sunken chest and stomach sticking out.
I encourage you to concentrate on this and make sure that you are always ensuring your spine is erect. Keeping your chin up and your shoulders back, hold your abdomen in without straining. Practice breathing deeply and naturally while walking. Remember not to slouch as this will work against you. Also practice sitting with your body erect and proper. Don’t get lazy and slouch in to a semi laying position. It’s important to look confident as if the whole world was watching. If you are able to do all of this without thinking about it, you will definitely be more successful and feel better.
During the day it is a great idea to do some quick stretching. While sitting, reach for the ceiling a few times. Each time you raise your arms up try to get higher than you did previously without compromising your form. This should help loosen the bones in your back and prevent your organs from hanging like a sloth in a tree. You must continue a daily routine of stretching and posture practice for it to become habit. Not only will you gain a better posture but your confidence in your self-image will improve as well.
Not only will a proper posture help the previously mentioned, it will also help with constipation and improve oxygen intake and circulation though out the body. Just remember, by being conscious of your posture you will automatically correct it, and be on the road to success.
